The Regeneration Machine (from 'The Anubis Engine')

by Paul Roland

/

about

Another solo electronic track from a forthcoming synth album to be completed in collaboration with Ralf Jesek of German electropop/dark folk duo In My Rosary. I don't know what he will add to this - perhaps a front end and coda or maybe additional instruments, though I think it sounds finished as it is. After a flash of inspiration and some serious rethinking I have re-imagined the electronic album as a ‘Stargate’-type SF soundtrack (!) centring on an Egyptian-themed civilization in a parallel universe in which their cult of the dead involves an advanced device – the Anubis Engine – for sending the souls of their departed through a rift in space-time to incarnate on Earth as the Pharaohs and High Priests of ancient Egypt.
